Won't this cook my battery?
That's the main thing we engineered against. AgentBarista releases sleep within your grace window — 90 seconds by default — after the agent goes quiet, and on battery it has a hard cutoff: at your chosen percentage it stops holding the Mac awake and lets it sleep, no matter what. And it cleans up after itself: if a session ever crashes, the next start hunts down and kills anything left holding your Mac awake.
What does it actually read on my Mac?
- Never opens your files. It looks at process command lines and CPU, and at the names and modification times of your agents' session files. A command line can include a prompt you passed on it, so that text is matched on your Mac and discarded on the spot — never stored, never sent.
- On-screen text only with your permission. If you grant macOS Accessibility, it reads the visible text of the agent apps you enable and of the terminals we support — which can include your code. That text is matched against status phrases on your Mac and discarded on the spot: never stored, never sent.
- Two network calls, and you know what they carry. License validation goes to Lemon Squeezy: activating sends your license key and your Mac's name, and the routine check after that sends your license key and an anonymous instance id. The update check fetches the new-version list from agentbarista.com — no personal data — and can be turned off in Settings.
